The Out-of-Towner's Guide to Eating Well in Fort Collins

Fort Collins has a reputation. People come for the craft beer, stay for the mountains, and leave wondering why they don't live here. But between the brewery tours and the Horsetooth hike and the free Thursday night concerts in Old Town Square, there's a question that comes up eventually: *where do we eat?*
We're a little biased, obviously. But we've been in the heart of Old Town since 2010 — locally owned, never a franchise — and we've watched a lot of visitors walk through our doors, order something ridiculous, and immediately regret not ordering two of them. So consider this your honest, burger-forward guide to making the most of your time here.
First, Let's Talk About the Burger
There are burgers, and then there are *STUFT burgers*. The difference is that you build yours from scratch: choose your patty, pile on the toppings — caramelized onions, fire green chili, a fried egg, whatever strikes you — and then decide whether you want it on a regular bun or, if you're feeling adventurous, a warm glazed doughnut.
Yes, the doughnut bun is real. Yes, people order it. Yes, it's exactly as good as it sounds.
Our Parmesan Garlic Fries are the thing people come back for. They were voted **best in Colorado by Yahoo! Travel**, and we're not shy about mentioning that. Order a side of bacon aioli to go with them and you'll understand why.

Don't Skip the Milkshakes
Every milkshake at STUFT is hand-spun — by an actual person, behind an actual bar. We add mix-ins like Nutella and Graham Crackers, because why not. If you're not getting a milkshake with your burger, you're leaving something on the table.
And if you'd rather have a beer: we're a craft beer city, and we take that seriously. New Belgium seasonals, Odell favorites, and rotating Colorado taps. The bartender knows what's good — just ask.
When to Come This Summer
Fort Collins packs its summers with events, most of them happening right outside our front door on College Ave. Here's what's worth planning around — and where STUFT fits in:
- **Every Thursday — Old Town Square Concerts:** Free live music 7–9pm. Dinner at STUFT first, then walk over.
- **3rd Friday of the Month — Fort Collins Foodie Walk:** A self-guided culinary tour of Downtown, 5–8pm. We're right in the middle of it.
- **July 4th — Parade & Fireworks:** The parade rolls right past us. The patio fills up fast — come early and stay for the fireworks.
- **August 29 — Tour de Fat:** New Belgium's annual costumed bike parade and festival. Fort Collins' best day of the year. Fuel up here first.
The patio is open from March through October, and on a warm summer night in Old Town there really isn't a better seat in the city.
